Aesthetic surgery of the arms – brachioplasty

Ageing and sudden weight loss cause sagging skin. Exercise helps to increase muscle tone in the arm area, but unfortunately it has no effect on sagging skin. Exercise doesn’t get rid of sagging skin, cosmetic surgery does. Arm lift, also called brachioplasty, is a surgery that removes excess fat and skin from the arms.

The ideal candidate for brachioplasty:

– if you are in good health; – if you have reached your desired weight but have lost weight and are left with excess skin; – if age has taken its toll and the skin on your arms has lost its elasticity; – if you don’t smoke or are willing to quit smoking; – if you don’t like what you see in the mirror and want a change; – if you are optimistic, have realistic expectations and are willing to accept that in exchange for reshaping your arms you will be left with scars.

Scars after any surgery are permanent, but they can fade nicely if the patient follows the doctor’s advice in the post-operative period. The results of brachioplasty surgery are long-lasting as long as the patient does not have weight fluctuations.
